Trivia[]
- William Dozier often claimed that the character of Aunt Harriet Cooper was created for the series to prevent Bruce Wayne and Richard "Dick" Grayson from appearing to be gay lovers. The 1960s were still a time marked by homophobia to a degree. However, she was actually created for by DC Comics in 1964 in order to create a rationale for Bruce and Dick to maintain the secrecy of their dual identities within Wayne Manor. Otherwise, one could have propose they could lounge around in their Bat-costumes in the mansion, which would have undermined the drama in the series.
