The Batman TV series is best known for its use of onomatopoeia filling shots during fight scenes; to wit, animated verbiage describing the impact of a given punch appear comic book-style on the TV screen at the very moment of impact. This production technique was also referred to as "fight balloons" by Adam West in the DVD release of the 1966 film.
